At Elbe Tekstil, we continuously look for ways to make our manufacturing processes more resource-efficient. From recovering water and heat within our facility to investing in more efficient machinery, our approach focuses on reducing unnecessary consumption and making better use of the resources already within our production cycle.
Rainwater collection & reuse
Rainwater is collected and stored on-site for use in suitable non-production applications, such as garden maintenance and cleaning. This allows us to reduce the use of mains water for activities that do not require potable water.
Water & Heat Recovery
Steam is an essential part of knitwear manufacturing, particularly during ironing and drying. Instead of allowing all of the resulting thermal energy and water to go unused, our system recovers condensate from these processes.
The recovered hot water is collected in a condensate tank and reused when required, allowing us to make use of water and residual heat already generated during production before drawing on additional resources.
Efficient Steam Generation
The water supplied to our steam generator is treated to potable-water quality, helping prevent limescale buildup within the system. By keeping the equipment free from scale, we can maintain more efficient heat transfer and steam generation while supporting the long-term performance of our machinery.
